NOTE: If you attempt the test more than 5 times, you will be given an alternative assignment! After the 3rd time failing the test, you need to study more! By the way, the web site will tell me how many times you have completed the test, and the tutorial.
Grades 6 and 7 – Tuesday’s work

Hey everyone–I am going to give you some freedom in your next assignment. I want you to go to my favorite science simulation website (http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulations/category/by-level/middle-school) and pick ANY of the simulations. You can try more than one if you’d like. Then I want you to answer the following questions as a comment to this post, either on the ASB Science facebook page, or this page (if you already have an account).
- What was the title of your simulation?
- Why did you choose this simulation?
- What are 3 things you learned from this simulation?
- Would you consider the simulation “fun”?
- What surprised you about this simulation?

01.) Read section 8.4. Complete the section assessment (all questions).
2.) Download this document: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24142903/Chemistry/7%2C%208%20Bonding/Molecule%20Polarity%20WS.docx
You will need to use the simulation from this site: http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/molecule-polarity
Due by Friday. DO NOT DELAY.
AP Chemistry: Monday
01.) Read section 8.3, do section assessment questions 23-29.
2.) Then go here: http://phet.colorado.edu/en/contributions/view/3478 (“Run Now”) Download the document below, then complete the worksheet:
DO NOT WAIT to do this assignment! You will be held accountable for all of the information in this section. Waiting to do your work until the last minute is choosing to fail. You can choose to succeed by disciplining yourself.

You may print it out and write on it using a pen, or you may complete it on the computer and email it to me. Up to you. When you have the document, go here: http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/color-vision
Then click “Run Now”. Remember to use Google Chrome and if it doesnt work, you probably need to install Java.
Due Tuesday in class.
Chemistry – Work to be done during the closure
0Learn how to balance equations using this simulation: http://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/balancing-chemical-equations
Remember to select “Run Now”. Use Google Chrome, and if the simulation doesn’t work, you need to download the latest version of Flash and install it. Then restart your computer and try again.
Please download this document: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24142903/Chemistry/11%20Reactions/Balancing/Balancing%20Chemical%20Equations%20pre-lab.docx
You may print it out and fill out the page on with a pen, or you may do the worksheet electronically and email it to me. Up to you.
Do the same thing with this document:
If you need extra help, check out the Khan Academy’s video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnGu3xO2h74
